Indian Institute of Human Rights in Madurai

Institute of Human Rights Education was launched to build human rights culture in the society with the help of education. It is situated in Madurai, Tamilnadu. An experiment began in 1997 in some schools of Tamilnadu while the UN Decade for Human Rights Education (1995-2004) has expanded to a National program of significance. At present Institute of Human Rights Education is a part of the United Nations World program for Human Rights Education.
