Criminal Justice Minor from Canisius College

The Criminal Justice minor is designed for students who have chosen another academic major (e.g. psychology, political science) but who may have an academic and/or career interest in the area of criminal justice. Two courses are required. Four courses can be chosen from any of the criminal justice offerings, with at least one course at the 300 or 400 level.

Criminal Justice Minor from Caldwell College

Students who wish to pursue a minor in Sociology must complete 18 credits or six courses. These must include: SO 101 Introduction to Sociology, plus any other five courses with an SO prefix.

Students who wish to pursue a minor in Criminal Justice must complete 18 credits or six courses. These must include CJ 201 Introduction to Criminal Justice, plus a minimum of three CJ courses required for the Criminal Justice major, and up to two elective courses from the designated list of CJ or SO electives that fulfill requirements for the Criminal Justice major.

Students must attain a grade of C or better in all courses applied to the Sociology or Criminal Justice Major and Minor programs.

Students majoring in both Sociology AND Criminal Justice may cross-list three courses. These are: SO 344, SO 346, and SO 335. For students with a major in Sociology and a minor in Criminal Justice OR a major in Criminal Justice and a minor in Sociology, only two courses may be cross-listed.

Department of Sociology & Criminal Justice from Caldwell College

The Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice offers a BA degree in both Sociology and Criminal Justice, and an accelerated, five-year combined BA/MSW Degree with Rutgers University, The State University of New Jersey. Students may also pursue a Sociology or Criminal Justice Minor.

Criminal justice from Buffalo State College

The Criminal Justice minor is open to all students not majoring in Criminal Justice who have completed at least one semester of full-time study at Buffalo State College and who are in good academic standing at this institution (2.0 G.P.A. or better). The Criminal Justice Minor is intended to complement the student’s major course of study, broaden and enhance career opportunities, and provide expertise in an area of interdisciplinary studies. The curriculum is composed of 18 credit hours taken from the Criminal Justice program and will provide a basic background in the subject area. All of the hours are normally taken at Buffalo State College with a maximum of 6 credit hours at the lower division level. A maximum of three courses of transfer credit will be permitted.
